UNEMPLOYABLE is a series of two appointments per month, a video-quest around dance-making created by Laura Colomban, a dancer and breath-work facilitator from Venice, Italy.

Laura writes: “As a dancer and educator I face the precarious gaps in between projects, an empty-not-empty space full of questioning, around daily practice and discipline, such as how to keep trusting the invisible, keeping focused, driven by passion and commitment to my art. This gives a lot in terms of deep richness but has also the downside of not leaving much reliable time for the body/mind to regenerate in between projects.

Life every week is really different, in terms of meetings and practices, all gravitating around the body and the cultivation of the self. This video project is an attempt at integrating, questioning and sharing, hoping to open a dialogue, or simply being, as it is.

Laura Colomban developed her study through the guidance of Daria Faïn, Dohee Lee, Miguel Gutierrez, Geneviéve Blanchard, Caterine Cardier, Kelly Kemp, Augusta Moore, Jerry Bregman, Ninnke Reefhorst, Marigia  Maggipinto (Pina Bausch) and Roberta Pagliaro (Aterballetto). She has been studying and assisting Anna Halprin at Tamalpa Institute where she graduated in 2013. In 2017 she received Atem-Tonus-Ton® certification, as ATT practitioner is a somatic breath-work based on Maria Höller-Zangenfeind’s practice. Since 2013 she organizes Hors Lits Venice which consists of an itinerary of performances in domestic spaces to bring performance art to a diverse audience in settings which are not mainstream.
