Lunar Eclipse and The Full Moon in Capricorn July 16th. Soften your heart.

Do what you can to face the powerful forces that may work against you, and look up towards the softness and nurturing of the Sun in Cancer. Give yourself permission to retreat; the ancients advised to slow down and spend time reflecting during times of intensity that eclipses can awaken.

Partial Lunar Eclipse and Capricorn Full Moon July 16, 2019

The eclipse season is powerful, tense and revealing. In between the New Moon in Cancer with the Total Solar Eclipse and the Full Moon in Capricorn – the Partial Lunar Eclipse on July 16th, we experience intense energies augmented by the Mercury retrograde (July 7th- August 1st). During this emotionally charged period go with the energy flow, retreat, meditate, prepare some type of soothing ritual, and reflect on what is happening in your life, particularly if the degrees of the eclipses concur with a planet in your chart. Eclipses are experienced most strongly when they form close aspects to planets in your chart, such as conjunctions, squares, and oppositions. But even if you do not have anything on personal planets, the eclipses will always fall in a house in your chart. Be prepared for something to be activated.

What is a Lunar Eclipse?

A lunar eclipse can only occur at Full Moon (Sun opposite Moon) when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon blocking the Sun’s rays from reaching all or part of the Moon. The Earth passes through some portion of its shadow blocking some or all of the Sun’s rays from reaching the Moon.

Lunar Eclipse: Sun, Earth and the Moon.

With the Sun in Cancer at 24 degrees opposing the Moon conjunct Pluto, tension arises between the need to feel nested and safe and the way we want to be seen in the world. With Pluto as the transformer, embracing the Moon causes us to be aware of the dark parts of ourselves that we may not want to acknowledge. Fear, anger, and jealousy enslave us and weaken the ability to engage with our emotions in constructive ways. Letting go of the need to control and exercising power over other people is the Plutonian lesson. Repeat the mantra: “Always with others, and not against them”.

Pluto also forms 5-degree conjunction with Saturn and South Node, which will bring up the voice of the inner critique, the most self-destructive slow and deadly weapon in the human arsenal. Dive deep into the darkness, and transform what you can, to better serve your needs. Do what you can to face the powerful forces that may work against you, and look up towards the softness and nurturing of the Sun in Cancer. Give yourself permission to retreat; the ancients advised to slow down and spend time reflecting during times of intensity that eclipses can awaken. If you can, spend time surrounded by water. Cancer as the first cardinal water sign is represented by a fast-moving stream, ever-changing and flowing like our emotions and the insights of intuition.

Cancerian intuition requires fluidity for clarity

This eclipse season will leave us changed; let the stars guide you how to make yourself comfortable in your world with all the nurturing, loving, and motherly energies of the Cancer Sun, Venus, and North Node…
