Full Moon In Sagittarius June 17 Portal of Expansion

In astrology, full moons symbolize a peak of energies, and occur when the Sun (the ego) opposes the Moon (the soul). Through the external pressures, antagonistic energies bring up inner conflicts to the surface. This may translate into obstacles between our home and work; our desires and our needs. The cosmic tensions are mostly felt on the personal level as full moons are focused on the emotional and instinctual, allowing us to gain insight into the dynamics of our intimate relationships, and through the power of intuitive insight, adjust them accordingly.

This Full Moon in Sagittarius occurs on June 17th, the Sun is at 25 degrees and 53 minutes of Gemini, and the Moon opposite to the Sun at 25 degrees and 53 minutes of Sagittarius widely conjuncting Jupiter at 18 degrees Sagittarius. Jupiter is the ruler of this Full Moon, he is The Wanderer, The Seeker, The Adventures and The Philosopher, his style buoyant and optimistic, always ready to party, explore and travel.

Expect a time of heightened energy, with an acceleration of synchronicities moving forward. There is an urge to expand, whether on the physical plane through traveling, or mentally, expanding from what you have known and embarking on a new intellectual quest.

The Full Moon also signifies the opening of the cosmic portals as it sits right by the Galactic Center located at approximately 26-27 degrees of Sagittarius. The Galactic Center is the center of the Milky Way, its brightest point through which the divine consciousness is being transmitted. The energies poured through the Sun-Moon axis are connected to the Galactic portal, encouraging us to seek freedom and truth on an individual and collective level. We may venture and wander into the philosophical sphere to enquire about what the bigger picture beyond the human race is, and so we may want to be transported into the cosmic field beyond the earthly realm. This possible experience of astral travel and time wrap is a prelude to the eclipses occurring on July 2nd, the total solar eclipse, and the lunar eclipse on July 16th.

Attune yourself to what comes up during the Full Moon, and use the supportive evolutionary energies of Sagittarius to expand in ways relevant to you. This week encourages us to transgress the limits of the analytical mind – Sun in Gemini ruled by linear Mercury focused on the here and now – and look ahead towards what is possible in the long term.

Jupiter and the Full Moon axis also squares Neptune in Pisces. As we experienced the Jupiter-Neptune square on January 13, 2019, it will also affect this Full Moon (exact on June 16th), and then on September 21, 2019. On the one hand this may herald an ungrounded idealistic vision of what you want without knowing how to get it, but on the other this is also a time of spiritual expansion, where you can make adjustments to your life, activating your dreams so as to become a more authentic self. Emotional optimism enables you to connect your mind to your heart, and guided by intuition you seemingly attract miracles into your life.

Following up on the energies from the New Moon on June 3rd, this week presents some challenging Cancer-Capricorn oppositions. Being compassionate towards yourself and others, and taking responsibility for your feelings, without blame or anger outbursts, is a good shield to Mars in Cancer emotional nature.

North Node in Cancer conjunct Mars and Mercury encourages you to listen to your feelings, and be in alignment with what you truly desire for yourself. The Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn is the voice of external obligations, responsibilities – things we should and ought to do. The challenge here – and that is also what we will face during the Eclipse season in July – is to let go of things that don’t give you satisfaction, and be true to the way you want to live your life.
