FULL MOON IN LIBRA. APRIL 7-8TH. Self-awareness.

The duality of the Full Moon expresses itself through the axis of Aries and Libra: desires and needs of the self, and the need to negotiate our social reality with others.

Full moons symbolize a peak of energies, and occur when the Sun (the ego) opposes the Moon (the soul). This Full Moon in Libra takes place on April 7th at 10:34 pm EST (check your time zone accordingly).

With the Sun at 18 degrees and 43 minutes of Aries opposing the Moon at 18 degrees and 43 minutes of Libra we might find ourselves at odds with the need to belong and identify with a group, and the imposed rules of social distancing. The duality of the Full Moon expresses itself through the axis of Aries and Libra: desires and needs of the self, and the need to negotiate our social reality with others. This is a singular time in modern history, where an event that is causing collective cross societal suffering on a grand scale is also hijacking our psyches. Many of us are gripped not only by the fear of the unknown, but rather, the fear of the fear of the unknown. If this is not WWIII, it certainly still feels like an accomplished understudy. And it is in this collective flux that we suddenly find ourselves alone, but together, orphaned from physical interaction; we have resorted to connecting digitally with those that we cherish but are apart from. So when we dart out for food there is now an extra semaphore of truth in the gesticulations we grant one another, genuflections of a shared experience. But watch out! You’re getting empathy on everything and you soon may become immobilized on the couch, surfing from one stream to the next until you’re drowning in lofi melodramas.. Isolation making us safe is the antithesis to the desirable close contact that is essential to our well-being. So instead of fearing the shadows, privilege them, as the light of the moon in the darkness of night is actually a reflection of the sunlight that sustains us.

The major aspect of this Full Moon is the cardinal t-square of Moon and Sun with Jupiter conjunct Pluto as an apex. Watch out for potentially explosive energies of Moon and Pluto, which may reveal to you deeply rooted subconscious suffering. Don’t allow isolation to foster destructive behaviors. Instead, soften up, be willing to be vulnerable and open yourself up to a heartfelt conversation. Self-awareness may diminish emotional pain, but you need to be willing to do the work and face your darkness.

We are still under the influence of Jupiter and Pluto conjunction that took place on April 4th, sending energetic waves throughout the Universe. In 2020 Jupiter and Pluto will meet 2 more times on June 30th and November 12th so it’s good to be aware of currents they stir. The energies of Jupiter, The Philosopher and the Adventurer are idealistic and future oriented, Jupiter expands whatever it touches, while Pluto the Lord of the Underworld, and the Magician of the Zodiac heralds generational transformations. Jupiter, the Great Benefit, conjunct Pluto brings opportunity to align with the highest calling, attuned to the idealistic, selfless expressions of Plutonian energies. Pluto’s immense powers are best expressed as used for the greater good, and not the egotistical self serving results. Keep that in mind, and let the principle of the common good guide your actions. During the Full Moon we will also experience an energizing trine of Venus at 4 degrees of Gemini, and Saturn conjunct Mars on early degrees of Aquarius.  Saturn entered the sign of Aquarius on March 21st and will remain at the early degrees until July 1st when it retrogrades into Capricorn until December 2020. With the Saturn Mars conjunction we have a strong ambition, discipline, and unlimited energy to formulate and pursue goals. Venus in Gemini softens that determination demanding that whatever we set our eyes onto also brings us pleasure and opportunity to socialize…
